Raising babies and growing businesses : the Busi-Mum-Life

Mums in Business Association (MIBA) was created in 2017 in the UK by sisters Leona Burton and Estelle Keeber after they realised that traditional means of networking was perhaps difficult to attend for Mums. Either timing was an issue or children weren't allowed - hence the launch of child-friendly networking events for the modern day Mum in Business. An event inclusive of female business owners, network marketers, more than one of the same business and children!!

Fast forward 20 months and MIBA have an astounding 33,000 (and growing) tribe of women in business globally, with over a 100 established networking events hosted to provide training and support for networking and growing genuine connections.

'I was personally mentored by one of the Co-Founders, Leona Burton in late 2017 and was one of the first to join the amazing movement via their Facebook Group', said Samoan mother of 2 and social marketing business owner Fili Tagaloa, today holding the position as Auckland's newest and only MIBA Networking Event Co-ordinator.

Fili, a local Mum of 2 felt the need to be able to facilitate these events in Auckland since seeing the growth in small businesses both locally and regionally and there not having a space for Mums & their bubs' (if needed) to network with other businesses. Fili represented New Zealand and her Polynesian community, co-authoring MIBA Best-Seller book, 'Mumpreneur on Fire - Volume 1' sharing her story with 24 inspiring women from around the world. Fili is passionate about empowering the next generation of young parents and families, sharing that it is okay to want more, to do more, TO BE MORE, to do something completely outside of your comfort zone for yourself and family - no matter the platform used to be able to achieve this.

‘MIBA is all about leaving our attendees inspired, empowered and connected to be able to grow their business through networking and doing so without having to worry about whether our babies are allowed or not’ said Fili Tagaloa.

MIBA have now more than 100 coordinators world-wide and 23 local coordinators in Australia alone. Fili's goal is to grow the MIBA tribe in Auckland with a goal to facilitate smaller events within the wider Auckland region by the end of 2019.

The first local networking event in Auckland will take place in late March, join our Facebook group page - MIBA Networking Auckland (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1799806700056383/) or contact Fili at nzmibaevents@gmail.co.nz for more information
