2019 NZ Cruise Conference announced

The New Zealand Cruise Association is pleased to announce that the 2019 New Zealand Cruise Association Annual General Meeting and Conference will be held in Auckland, with the AGM and Welcome Function on Thursday 22 August and the full-day Conference being held on Friday 23 August at Shed 10, Auckland Cruise Terminal.

The theme of the 2019 conference is Auckland: Shaping the Future.

Auckland is an international gateway and stand-alone destination, a critical port of call for cruise itineraries. Like many modern and progressive cities, Auckland faces infrastructure challenges and resistance to change,” says Debbie Summers, Chairman New Zealand Cruise Association.

“Our 2025 vision is being carved out of the concrete of our city, whilst further expansion of green areas create a sustainable and enjoyable lifestyle experience for our residents and visitor alike. Surrounding all this is our beautiful Waitematā Harbour, providing a focal point for cruise arrivals and departures. Over 350,000 cruise passengers, and rising, enter New Zealand, making the cruise sector a key component of the Tourism 2025 growth framework and a major contributor to our economic future.

“Yet we stand at the cross-roads. As the rest of New Zealand gears up for cruise, we are currently having to ask “what is the future for cruise in Auckland?”

The 2019 conference will give all relevant stakeholders a chance to discuss their vision for the future of the New Zealand cruise sector. The conference will present the best opportunity of the year to connect with cruise-focused professionals and network with the very highest levels of the cruise industry, both nationally and internationally.
