Waitomo – fueler for the future in the Tron
Hamilton-based fuel supplier Waitomo Group has today opened its first central city site in the Tron – the third fuel stop for its hometown.
Centrally located in the Hamilton CBD next to Countdown in Anglesea Street, the fuel stop will offer retail and commercial customers Unleaded 91, Premium 95 and Diesel.
In celebration, until Friday 12pm Waitomo has pumped prices down at the site with Unleaded 91 at $1.759 a litre, Premium 95 at $1.889 a litre and Diesel at $1.099 a litre.
Waitomo Group Manging Director Jimmy Ormsby said Waitomo was stoked to be able to find a site to meet growing demand in Hamilton.
“As a 100 per cent Kiwi-owned and operated family business, fueling Kiwis across the country is what we do. But the Waitomo team is especially pumped to be able to give more back to the Hamilton community where we live and work.
“With the Tron in major growth mode, that ties in well with our own expansion plans – disrupting New Zealand’s fuel market, by offering the lowest price we can. That’s our Waitomo price.”
The Waitomo price has led to greater price competition in the areas where the company operates.
Further fuel stops are currently under construction in Papamoa, central Wellington and Upper Hutt and will open in the coming months. Waitomo has also announced it’ll open a Christchurch site later this year, delivering long-awaited price competition down south.
“Two months into 2019 and two new fuel stops in place. It’s all hands to pump here, and there’s plenty more disruption to come.”
The Hamilton Central Fuel Stop will officially open at 12pm today, with ice creams to keep things cool.
Established in Te Kuiti more than 70 years ago by Desmond Ormsby, Waitomo Group now has nearly 60 sites stretching from Paihia to Foxton.
