Second paper for the Electricity Price Review published
20 February 2019
The Electricity
Price Review announces the publication of its second paper
– the options paper.
The independent review’s second phase of work has focused on developing improvements to the electricity sector.
They have produced an options paper which outlines 41 early ideas for improvements to the electricity sector to address the problems identified in their first report.
Many of the options address the need for electricity prices to be fair and affordable, not just efficient or competitive, and a focus is to ensure consumers have a say in the direction of the sector.
Options included in the paper have either been suggestions from stakeholders or the review’s panel of experts.
The review greatly values stakeholder feedback in advance of preparing their final recommendations, which will go to the Minister of Energy and Resources in mid-2019.
