Investment industry heavyweight joins BNZ

One of the country’s top investment experts, Graham Ansell, has taken up important governance roles with BNZ’s wealth business as the bank takes delivering great outcomes for its customers to the next level.

Mr Ansell has been appointed as a director of the BNZ Investment Services Limited Board and is now also Chairman of BNZ’s Investment Review Committee.

BNZ General Manager, Wealth, Peter Forster says securing someone of Graham’s calibre for these roles will make a real difference for customers.

“Graham Ansell is one of New Zealand’s leading experts in investment management,” Mr Forster says.

“His experience in the industry makes him a great fit for these roles and his input and guidance are already proving invaluable.”

Mr Ansell, who was previously the Chief Investment Officer at ANZ Investments where he oversaw more than $28 billion in funds under management, says he was looking forward to getting his teeth into the new roles.

“Investments are in my blood – I’m constantly looking for ways to help New Zealanders achieve better outcomes with their money. These roles give me a great opportunity to do more,” Mr Ansell says.

“I know that it is important to have an independent voice at the table when setting investment strategy. I’m impressed by the rigor BNZ applies to their processes and I’m looking forward to contributing to that in a meaningful way.”

BNZ’s investment offerings include the KiwiSaver, YouWealth and Private Wealth Series schemes and extend to a full service Private Bank wealth advisory offering.
