Press Release: ACENZ
January 23, 2019.
The ACENZ Board regrets to announce that our long serving CEO Kieran Shaw has announced his intention to leave and pursue new interests in his notable career, and indulge his passion for creating original music.
After thorough consideration, and noting the positive impact and strategic development of the Association that has come from the 12 years of strong and insightful leadership of Kieran Shaw, ACENZ is proud to announce Paul Evans as incoming CEO to replace Kieran in March 2019.
Paul Evans is an experienced Chief Executive with a proven track record in member-based not-for-profit organisations, with an emphasis on enhancing stakeholder engagement, driving member value and increasing organisational profile.
For the last seven years, Paul has been employed as Chief Executive Officer of WasteMINZ, the representative body for the waste and resource recovery sector in New Zealand. Here, he was responsible for the positive development of the industry through strengthening relationships, facilitating collaboration and championing the implementation of good practice.
A fundamental aspect of this job was stakeholder and relationship management to ensure positive industry-driven outcomes. This has required Paul to work across all levels of central government, local government, and commercial industry.
With a passion for advancing challenging projects, enhancing relationships and ultimately delivering outstanding member-focused results, Paul’s background complements what the ACENZ Board, current CEO, Kieran Shaw, and ACENZ staff work passionately to achieve.
Paul says “The engineering and consulting sector plays a critical role for Aotearoa, and I firmly believe that ACENZ and its members should sit at the heart of our nation’s future success. I’m looking forward to joining the ACENZ team in March and working with our members to create a modern, diverse, and fit-for-purpose organisation that supports the development of a high-quality built environment, and thriving member firms.”
