Brexit Update
No doubt businesses that are trading in the UK will have been watching as Brexit has turned into an intractable problem of epic proportions! What happens next will be anyone’s guess, but in this newsletter we outline some tips from Russell McVeagh on what business should be thinking about. We also share some links from the NZ Government on where you can go for information.
ExportNZ attends a regular briefing by MPI on this issue, so we will keep exporters informed as more information comes to hand. NZ Customs has deployed more personnel to the UK and our relevant agencies are keeping in touch with Officials in the UK. Watch this space and we wish the UK every success in reaching a good resolution.

NZ Government Brexit information updates
The MPI website was updated yesterday with information from the UK authorities regarding arrangements for the exports of animals and animal products in the event of a ‘no deal’ Brexit scenario.
The UK have confirmed with New Zealand their intention to continue accepting existing EU model health certificates and establishment lists for a least 6 months after 29 March 2019. You can find the full update on the MPI website: Preparing for Brexit and a possible ‘no deal’.
