Te Pa, Cloudy Bay Clams Team up for Marlborough Wine & Food

Te Pa Family Vineyards & Cloudy Bay Clams Team up for Marlborough Wine & Food Festival 2019

Two award-winning, family-owned local Marlborough producers, te Pa Family Vineyards and Cloudy Bay Clams, are teaming up for the Marlborough Wine & Food Festival for 2019 and the companies are celebrating their collaboration with a series of exciting events, competitions and food pairings.

The two flourishing Marlborough companies, will be selling award-winning wine and sustainably harvested clams, marking their collaboration at the much-loved festival, which attracts around 8000 guests each year. Attendees can expect to see beautiful fresh clams on the half shell, paired with lively and expressive Marlborough te Pa Sauvignon Blanc, and crispy and decadent fried popcorn clams served with light and effervescent Pa Road Sparkling Rosé.

To promote their collaboration, the two companies are also teaming up with Thomas’s Department Store, an iconic family-owned and operated Marlborough shopping destination, for a beach-themed long lunch in the heart of Blenheim township, two days before the festival.

The inaugural ‘Clam Bake in the Boom’ event will run from 1 – 4pm on Thursday 7th of February, and will feature wines from te Pa, clams and mussels from Cloudy Bay Clams, served ‘clam bake style’ with local chorizo, corn, and freshly-baked breads and local hot sauces, with the outdoor venue, fashion, and themed decorations sponsored by Thomas’s Department Store. Tickets are limited to 160 people and are available now for $69 exclusively through Event Brite. Click here for tickets.

te Pa Wines and Cloudy Bay Clams are run by Haysley MacDonald and Isaac Piper respectively, two Blenheim locals who have been friends for many years, so the decision to team up and share a large stand at the Marlborough Wine & Food Festival was a no-brainer. With Cloudy Bay located directly in front of te Pa’s home vineyard near the Wairau Bar in the lower Wairau Valley, te Pa shares the same sea breeze that comes off the water where Cloudy Bay Clams harvests much of its clam supply. There’s a natural synergy of taste, and lifestyle, between the two products, with both teams regularly enjoying a glass of chilled te Pa Sauvignon Blanc, served with fresh clams on the half shell with a Chardonnay, shallot and coriander vinaigrette.

To bring their collaboration to life, the two companies are running a series of promotions and giveaways, kicking off with a huge prize pack on their social media accounts. With a double pass for the Festival up for grabs, as well as a double pass for the Clam Bake in the Boom event, special promotion codes for wine and clams, and two co-branded t-shirts, this prize pack worth over $500 is sure to get locals and visitors excited about the festival. The competition will be drawn on the 21st of January.
