Southern Cross Cables Limited announced today that its Board of Directors has appointed Laurie Miller as Southern Cross’
new President and Chief Executive Officer. Miller will assume the new role on March 1, 2019, leading Southern Cross into
the start of the new fiscal year.
The Southern Cross cable network is comprised of 30,000km of submarine fibre, 15 access locations, operating across four
countries, and employing an expert team of 17 people worldwide.

everything we do to continue Southern Cross’ legacy of success.”
Speaking on behalf of the board, Southern Cross Cable Network Director, David Havercroft, said: “We are pleased to have
Laurie on board and look forward to leveraging his expertise and track record to steer Southern Cross and the Southern
Cross NEXT project forward.”
Miller succeeds Anthony Briscoe, who will retire from Southern Cross at the end of its fiscal year but will remain with
the company in the interim, in a consultative role, to ensure a smooth transition in this critical period.
“We very much appreciate Anthony’s efforts and his service to Southern Cross since his appointment nearly five years
ago. Anthony has been pivotal to Southern Cross successfully driving the Southern Cross NEXT project to its current
point,” said Havercroft. “We wish Anthony every regard in his retirement and well-earned break after years of
significant contribution to both Southern Cross and the international telecommunications industry.”
Prior to his role as President and CEO of Southern Cross, Miller held key roles as Head of Wholesale and Interconnect at
2degrees Limited, and as President and Country Manager in Sparks’ former US operation Telecom New Zealand USA Limited.
Miller has an extensive background in management and sales over a 27-year career in the International Telecommunications
Industry, starting with Telecom New Zealand in 1991.
