New Zealand Trade and Enterprise Board appointment supports Māori business growth
The Board of New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) Board is welcoming a new director, who will bring extensive
experience in business, and in particular the development of the Māori economy.
Ms Traci Houpapa MNZM has been appointed a member of the NZTE Board for a three-year term by the Minister for Economic
Development, Trade and Export Growth, David Parker.
“I am excited that Traci will join us at NZTE and bring her extensive experience in the primary sector,” Chair Andrew
Ferrier said.
“Her participation in the Te Hono group, which is actively engaged in Māori economic development from its current asset
base, aligns well with NZTE’s goal of export growth.
“Traci understands the role NZTE has played, and could potentially play, to grow the Māori economy. We look forward to
her joining us at the first meeting of 2019.”
Mr Parker has also confirmed the reappointment of four other Board members. Mr Ferrier has been reappointed as Chair,
with Wayne Norrie appointed as Deputy Chair and reappointed as a member. Charles Finny and Charlotte Walshe were also
reappointed as members of the Board.
