BP Welcomes Commerce Commission Market Study Announcement
BP media statement
BP welcomes the announcement made today that the retail fuel market has been selected as the subject of the first Commerce Commission market study.
Debi Boffa, BP New Zealand Managing Director says: “We support and welcome the Commerce Commission undertaking a retail fuel market study to assure New Zealanders that they are paying a fair price at the pump.
“The Commerce Commission are the right people to do this work because they have the level of independence required to confirm New Zealand has a fair and competitive retail fuel market.
“We are currently reviewing the terms of reference for the study. We will work openly and constructively with the Commerce Commission to support the process, in the same way we have done in previous studies.
“BP is committed to a strong, competitive market that provides value and service to New Zealanders. We have a long history in New Zealand of working hard to deliver value to our customers.”
