Judging over 200 exhibits that reflect a world-class standard of horticultural and floral design is no easy feat. Each medal was awarded based on a number of key elements including; ‘wow’ factor, originality of design, the quality and appropriateness of plant material and quality of construction.” Whilst local and international garden show trends have shown a strong emphasis towards edible gardens, Event Organisers are quick to point out that key trends seen at the 2018 New Zealand Flower and Garden Show are pollinator gardens, tropical plantings in modern settings and gardens focused around mindfulness and well-being.
