Senior leaders of the Ministry of Justice and Public Service Association (PSA) met yesterday (Monday 19 November) in
Wellington to discuss resumption of industrial negotiations.
The meeting brought together Ministry of Justice chief executive Andrew Bridgman and chief operating officer Carl Crafar
with PSA national secretary Glenn Barclay and assistant national secretary Basil Prestidge.
"There is a common desire to prepare sufficiently for our upcoming mediation meeting - scheduled for Thursday next week
(29 November) - to give it the best chance of success," said Barclay and Prestidge.
The industrial action taken by PSA members, in particular the partial strike action of work bans and work to rule
activities, has been effective and will continue until an agreement is reached.
Sticking points for the PSA remain an increase in the base pay offer, fair transition to fair pay scales and removal of
the performance pay system.
