Westpac Auckland Business Awards 2018
Winning business pushes the right buttons
Pushpay has won the Supreme Business Excellence Award at last night’s Westpac Auckland Business Awards 2018 – Central region.
Pushpay is an app-based payments business with a large overseas customer-base.
Director of Product Audrey Cheng puts Pushpay’s success down to Kiwis being innovative and really wanting to make it on the global stage.
“It is something that we are a part of and we hope that this award will inspire others to come alongside us and do the same thing”.
Pushpay also won the Excellence in International Trade category making it eligible for the supreme award.
Other individual category winners include ecommerce and inventory management business Vend, transport services company Transdev Auckland, clinical studies provider Optimal Clinical Trials Ltd, ice-cream manufacturer Wahiki Ltd, digital strategy consultants Overdose Digital, IT company Outsource IT, tourism enterprise Haka Tourism Group and the boutique foodie business I Love Food Co.
Auckland Business Chamber CEO Michael Barnett congratulates the businesses on the success they have achieved.
“The winners – and all of the entrants – are businesses that are not only brave enough to discover what they are doing well through the process of entering the awards, but also in allowing others to judge them and learn from them. They are to be celebrated.”
Auckland Council’s economic growth agency – Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED) – partners with the Auckland Business Chamber to present the awards.
ATEED Chief Executive, Nick Hill, congratulates those businesses recognised for standing out in their chosen fields saying small and medium sized businesses are crucial in driving the region’s economic growth.
“Auckland’s city centre is the region’s commercial hub and over the past five years the central district has added 47,491 new jobs to the city, or almost 10,000 jobs per year.”
Jeff Driscoll, Westpac Area Commercial Manager, Auckland, says the Westpac Business Excellence Awards are about taking time out to recognise the smartest, savviest and strongest businesses in the Auckland community.
“It’s been fantastic to see the high calibre of entries this year. Auckland is the biggest cog in New Zealand’s economy and fundamentally important to our global success.”
