Dimension Data welcomes new Chief Financial Officer

Wellington, New Zealand – 14 November, 2018. Dimension Data New Zealand has appointed Murray Newman, a highly experienced tech industry executive, as its new Chief Financial Officer.
Wayne Yarr, Chief Executive, Dimension Data New Zealand says that Newman’s deep understanding of the IT sector, together with his commercial expertise and strategic outlook will enable the company to provide even greater benefit to its clients.
“I am delighted to welcome Murray to the senior leadership team and am looking forward to working with him to further enhance our presence in New Zealand’s technology and business sector,” Yarr says.
Prior to joining Dimension Data, Murray was CFO and Company Secretary at Intergen for 12 years, during which time the company became part of the ASX-listed Empired Limited. He led the finance team for New Zealand and US, and oversaw the in-house counsel. Newman’s previous experience has included working for professional services organisations such as Accenture and Deloitte, both in New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
Newman says he is joining Dimension Data at an exciting phase in the company’s evolution under the leadership of Wayne Yarr. “The technology sector remains hugely dynamic, and I am delighted to be part of a company that is at the forefront of enabling businesses to reap the benefits of these changes,” he says.
Newman, who is based in Wellington, is also Deputy Chair of Orchestra Wellington, and has previously served on the board of Wellington Rugby League.
