Staples Rodway New Zealand appoints new Chair

Accounting, Audit and business advisory firm Staples Rodway is pleased to announce the appointment of David Searle as its new National Chair.
Mr Searle, who is Staples Rodway Auckland’s Managing Director, has worked in the firm’s Auckland office since 1992, joining the national board in 2014. Active in training and guiding members of the accounting profession, he has also served as New Zealand Divisional President of CPA Australia and Chair of the Australasian CA Training Group.
In accepting his appointment, Mr Searle acknowledges the outstanding contribution and service of predecessor Peter Guise, who has served as board Chair for nearly 20 years.
“Peter was instrumental in the formation and significant growth of the firm, from four offices combining to form Staples Rodway New Zealand in 1999, to being the seventh largest accounting practice in the country. He also enhanced our relationship with Baker Tilly, our international accounting network, which plays an integral part in servicing our clients as many of them expand internationally,” he says.
“I look forward to helping build on his success as we enter an exciting period in the accounting profession, marked by a changing regulatory landscape, digital transformation and new opportunities to help our clients grow here and overseas.”
Peter Guise says Mr Searle’s leadership experience and energetic investment in the accounting profession make him the ideal choice to helm the board.
“I have always believed strongly in leaving a board stronger than you found it and I’m delighted to see Staples Rodway in such capable hands going forward. I’ve known David for many years and I’m confident he will ensure the network maintains the outstanding quality of service and people-based approach it’s known for, well into the future.”
