The latest quarterly statistics on pokies in pubs and clubs released by the Department of Internal Affairs continue
recent trends with increasing gaming machine profits but a decreasing number of gaming machines and venues.
The headline statistics for June to September 2018 show:
• $235 million in gaming machine profits, $7.74 million or 3.4 per cent higher than the $227 million for the same period
last year.
• 1130 venues, 33 or 2.8 per cent fewer than the 1163 at the same period last year.
• 15,342 gaming machines, 375 or 2.4 per cent fewer than the 15,717 at the same period last year.
