ADRI a finalist in prestigious Islamic Creative Competition


New Zealand Company ADRI, becomes a finalist in the prestigious Islamic Creative Economy Competition

ADRI makes it easy to find digital academic papers and literature in Arabic, aiming to revolutionise Arabic scholarship.

[Wellington, New Zealand] Creative HQ are pleased to announce that Wellington based ADRI (“Arabic Digital Reform Institute”) has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Islamic Creative Economy Competition run out of Dubai. ADRI is a New Zealand incorporated company which is currently a resident of Creative HQ’s Incubation programme. The competition recognises Arabic entrepreneurs whose innovations are among the most creative projects from across the globe for the Islamic economy.

This is the first time a New Zealand company has made it into the finals, which take place at the end of October in Dubai.

"It is a great honour to be chosen as a finalist for this prestigious competition," says CEO Ali Mazraeh. "It is encouraging to see ADRI's vision becoming increasingly recognised on the world stage and we look forward to expanding the academic reach of the Arabic language."

“ADRI are set out for exponential international growth based out of New Zealand, and they are putting the right people, tools, and technology in play to get them there,” says Jacky Laverty, Creative HQ’s Head of Venture Management. “It’s great to see a resident from our incubation programme become a finalist in such a prestigious international competition.”

ADRI want New Zealand to become a 'digital Switzerland' and have created their platform to make Arabic materials easier for students and teachers to find, to access, and to share.

More than 300 million people around the world speak Arabic, making it the world's sixth most spoken language. Arabic is also the official language of the 22 countries which form the Arab League including Algeria, Iraq, Egypt and Saudi Arabia, and it's widely spoken throughout North Africa and the Middle East.


The Global Islamic Economic Summit

The Global Islamic Economic Summit is the world's largest forum dedicated to the Islamic economy. It brings together experts and policy makers to address some of the greatest challenges and opportunities facing the Islamic economy. The summit is organised by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Dubai Islamic Economy Development Centre, and is presided over by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE.
