Canon celebrates countdown to Rugby World Cup 2019™, Japan
Continuing its support of Rugby World Cup, Canon celebrates Japan’s host cities through a visual montage showcasing their charm, with one year to go till the tournament
Thursday 20th September – AUCKLAND, New Zealand: Canon is excited to celebrate one year to go until Rugby World Cup 2019, Japan, as it continues as the world-class tournament’s official sponsor, committed to the advancement of sports through the use of Canon products and technologies.
To mark the occasion, Canon is launching its @make_the_moment Instagram account, which will see twelve photographers who live in the suburbs of the host cities* introduce the world to the cities’ charm through photos showcasing famous sightseeing destinations, newly discovered spots, local gourmet food, and fun-filled leisure activities.
Tied to the Instagram account will be a specially curated web page RWC2019 Host City Photo Spot Project, where Canon will share detailed information about photo spots in host cities (maps from match venues, shooting information, etc.). Instagram users will have the chance to have their photos showcased via the @make_the_moment account by using the designated hashtags in their post: #RWC2019, #rwc2019_moment and #(host city).
As a Rugby World Cup 2019 official sponsor, Canon offers the full support of its diverse businesses, ranging from input and output products—including cameras, lenses, video camcorders, network cameras, copiers, multifunction devices, printers and projectors—to medical imaging equipment.
Enabling members of the press to capture the top-class athletes competing at the zenith of their sport in the best quality, Canon will provide behind-the-scenes support to members of the press covering Rugby World Cup 2019 Tournament – as it has done with other sporting competitions in the past, both in Japan and overseas. This includes camera and lens maintenance services and product loans, as well as print and copying solutions used by the Tournament Organising Committee, and event support through printouts of handout materials and the streamlining of document workflows.
