Canstar Blue awards gas industry
Auckland, 19 September 2018. Over 400,000 households in
New Zealand use gas – either natural or LPG – as a form
of energy. Canstar Blue has recently looked at the market
to see which suppliers’ customers think offer the most
outstanding value.
“Natural, piped gas and it’s biproduct LPG, which is sold in bottles, is used in over 400,000 homes across the county.” Says Canstar Blue spokesperson Emma Quantrill. “Many consumers use gas for the convenience, price and because it is less harmful to the environment compared with, say, fossil fuels.”
Who represents Outstanding Value?
This is the first year that Canstar Blue has measured customer satisfaction amongst gas customers in New Zealand and we are pleased to announced two worthy winners of our Outstanding Customer Satisfaction Awards.
For natural gas, Mercury, not only took the main award, they also earned a maximum five stars in all criteria - value for money, focus on the environment, customer service and tools and advice – the only supplier to do so.
Accepting the award on behalf of Mercury, Ben Harvey-Lovell, Head of Brand & Marketing, said:
“Getting this feedback straight from our customers is such an honour, because they’re at the centre of everything we do. It’s a wonderful validation of our focus on rewarding, inspiring and making things easy for them, and we’ll continue to do our best to deliver on this promise every single day.”
For customers who still like to use gas but are not part of the pipe network, LPG bottle gas is a great option. In this category, supplier Elgas was awarded the Canstar Blue Outstanding Customer Satisfaction Award.
Accepting the award, Elgas General Manager, Nick Hannon said said:
“We’re delighted to have won the Bottled Gas category. This award reflects the dedication and hard work by Elgas people, wherever they work in the company, and I’d like to thank our customers for recognising their efforts. We aim to be easy to deal with and to provide consistently high levels of service. It’s always great to get a pat on the back from the people we serve!”
