Regus opens prime new flexible working location at Auckland Airport

Auckland New Zealand – The emergence of a mobile workforce has been driven by technological change, globalisation and changes to employee expectations. A new premium co-working and hot desk space is now open for business – in the prime location, for workers and business travellers, of New Zealand’s largest and busiest airport. Regus Auckland Airport occupies a 1,000-square metre space in the state-of-the-art Quad 7 building, just 800 metres from the international terminal and close to train and bus stations and public car parking. Quad 7 is the product of design by top architects Warren & Mahoney.

Regus Auckland Airport, open around the clock, offers a range of options for people needing short- or long-term office space or private meeting areas. There are 39 offices, 134 workstations and two conference rooms – all brand-new and infused with natural light.

Pierre Ferrandon, New Zealand country manager for IWG, which owns Regus, says the time was right to expand the Regus offering, which now includes 14 sites in four cities, to Auckland Airport. “In addition to serving the 900 plus businesses in the area, we are expecting demand from larger corporates based in the CBD looking to offer their staff the ability to work closer to home and reduce their CBD footprint. We are seeing more and more companies embracing the concept of a network of offices, as opposed to a single, inconvenient location, to help attract and retain best talent. Beyond the physical space, we provide a full event calendar delivered in partnership with Auckland Airport to foster networking and connect businesses.”

Anthony McGill, key account manager for American paint manufacturer Rustoleum, has been working out of Regus Auckland Airport for the last few weeks. When Rustoleum products began hitting New Zealand shelves, he says there wasn’t the need to invest in a complete office fit out, and Regus provided the perfect alternative.

“At the moment, I’m the only employee on the ground here in New Zealand, liaising with Mitre 10 and Bunnings who stock our products. Regus’ workspace is ideal for what my job requires – it provides me with a professional working environment and is extremely cost effective.

New Zealand Air Ambulance Service (NZAAS), which operates the largest air ambulance service in New Zealand, has also been using the co-working space since it opened. NZAAS provides 24/7 coordination and air ambulances for the Starship Hospital team who retrieve critically ill children throughout the country and transport them back to Starship for specialist care.

Andrea Chapman, administrator at NZAAS, says the space works well for them for a multitude of reasons.

“Our company’s purpose-built facility is based at Hawkes Bay Airport, but we have other bases in Auckland, Wellington, Hastings and Gisborne. The Regus offices are close to our hangar at the airport, so it works well for our staff moving to and from the hangar, especially when a flight is delayed, and they need a comfortable place to wait in.

“Our Auckland service also requires a small office on a day-to-day basis, and we need to be able to host large meetings when staff visit from other bases around New Zealand, so Regus is great for this. For our admin tasks, everything we need is available on site, be it a guillotine, laminator or binder. Our courier parcels can be sent and received, even when we are not there. We also utilise the separate rooms for private meetings or conference calls. We really couldn’t ask for a more ideal space for our service.”
