BP Commits to Cage Free Eggs
BP is proud to announce that caged eggs are no longer available for purchase at any BP Connect store in New Zealand.
BP GM of Retail and Assets Adrian McClellan said “Responsible sourcing is extremely important to us and that is why we’ve made the decision to remove the sale of caged eggs at our company owned and operated sites.”
BP has seen increased customer demand for cage free eggs and is pleased to now offer customers a choice between a six pack of free-range eggs or a dozen barn-raised eggs.
“Responsible sourcing of products is not only exclusive to eggs with the coffee and hot chocolate available at Wild Bean Cafe having been Fairtrade for more than ten years,” Mr McClellan said.
“We are committed to providing our customers the best offer possible and are continuing to progress our responsible sourcing and sustainability options.”
BP also offers customers used Wild Bean Cafe coffee grinds to take home for their gardens, utilises a water recycling programme in its carwashes and is introducing compostable coffee cups by the end of 2018.
