New Chief Judge for Marlborough Wine Show
It was announced today that Jack Glover would lead the Marlborough Wine Show as Chief Judge this year. The show, in its eighth year, will take place on 15-17 October 2018.
The purpose of the Marlborough Wine Show is to showcase and celebrate New Zealand’s leading wine region as well and support the regions upcoming talent in the industry with the associate judging programme.
Judging for the Marlborough Wine Show will take place over three days, with a strong panel of nine judges including two non-Marlborough judges John Saker and Dr Jamie Goode. Experienced wine show judges and local winemakers will lend their considerable expertise. The associate judge programme will continue, with applications for associate judging and stewarding positions open now and closing off on 13 August.
With exceptionally strong foundations, the Marlborough Wine Show was created and built by Belinda Jackson and Margaret Creswell in 2011. Wine Marlborough, the regional winegrower representative body, purchased the show after the 2017 show with the aim of continuing its legacy and growing the show to celebrate all elements of the wine industry in Marlborough. Wine Marlborough sees the Marlborough Wine Show as a key tool in protecting the reputation of the Marlborough wine industry, as well as being a key event to celebrate the brilliant winemaking and viticultural talent in the region.
Wine Marlborough would like to recognise and congratulate previous Chief Judge, Jeff Clarke for his contribution to the Marlborough Wine Show for a number of years.
Entries for the Marlborough Wine Show will open on 27 August, and the awards celebration takes place on 26 October 2018.
