Queensgate branch relocates to temporary home

ASB’s Lower Hutt Queensgate branch is opening its doors again after temporarily relocating to a mobile caravan.
The branch-on-wheels will enable customers to do some over-the-counter transactions, meet with personal bankers, complete online banking tasks and open new accounts.
Located on the corner of Waterloo and High Street, the 8.5 metre long caravan will operate as a temporary mini branch until the Queensgate mall location can be re-opened.
ASB was one of a number of businesses in Lower Hutt's Queensgate Shopping Centre that left after a detailed seismic assessment of the mall revealed it was earthquake-prone.
To celebrate the caravan branch opening this morning, ASB is hosting a mid-winter barbecue at the site from 10am with customers and locals invited to attend.
ASB branch manager Jodie Gabriel says: “With our customers and staff safety in mind we made the difficult decision to leave ASB Queensgate branch in the mall. We’re incredibly excited to be returning ASB to Lower Hutt in the form of a pop-up Caravan Branch opening today 1st August. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to ASB and our Caravan Branch.”
The caravan is wheelchair accessible and will operate from the site until further notice.
