Services Still Running Smoothly

Tranzurban reported another solid day’s progress with commuter and school bus services in the Hutt Valley and Wellington running without disruption.

“No significant disruptions again today – another top effort from our team,” says Tranzit Group managing director Paul Snelgrove.

Mr Snelgrove cautioned media not against reading too much into the latest stunt by Kevin O’Sullivan.

“There is no meeting on Friday. The letter media have from Kevin O'Sullivan is just another stunt. Time and again his claims have been shown to be false.”

In the past seven days these have included:

• 50 drivers in the Hutt Valley would be striking. FACT: Zero drivers took part in this strike action.

• Tranzurban was 200 drivers short from being able to run Wellington and Hutt Valley services. FACT: Tranzit has enough drivers to run its share of the bus network.

• 90% of all drivers in Wellington and Hutt Valley have been recruited from Australia. FACT: None are from Australia.

• Tranzit drivers are illegally working 14 hour shifts. FACT: No.

“We are prepared to speak with Kevin O’Sullivan. But not while he continues his lone campaign of intimidation and fearmongering of our staff.”
