Kapiti Coast real estate continues to well outperform both the Wellington and Auckland regions as well as New Zealand overall, according to the latest Quotable Value figures.
The average value of residential property in the Kapiti Coast District rose by 9.6% from $508,221 to $557,092 in the 12 months to 30 June 2018.
The latest increase in Kapiti property is twice the annual rise the wider Wellington area experienced at 4.8%, is miles ahead of the Auckland region at 0.8%, and sits well ahead of the 5.7% New Zealand-wide average increase.
Century 21 New Zealand National Manager, Geoff Barnett, says the latest QV figures certainly reflect the listing and sales statistics his company is seeing from its Kapiti Coast franchise, Century 21 A1 Realty.
“Our Kapiti Coast franchise owners George and Rebecca Houghton continue to perform very strongly. Based in Raumati South, they are well-known locals who have a strong real estate presence and are completely committed to the community,” he says.
The husband and wife team at Century 21 A1 Realty are both principals and property managers, with Mrs Houghton recently winning a property management award for the first quarter of 2018 across all of Century 21’s New Zealand offices.
The Houghtons sponsor Community Patrol NZ’s Kapiti vehicle and this year will again be sponsoring the Pink October golf tournament at the Kapiti Golf Club. In fact, A1 Realty won the ‘Pink Office’ award across Century 21 New Zealand last year for raising the most money for breast cancer.
Amongst a lot of charity work, Kapiti born-and bred Rebecca Houghton also works closely with local Kapiti schools on their environmental programmes, including beach clean ups.
“We just love the Kapiti Coast and we’re thrilled its popularity is at an all-time high. The likes of the new cycleways and walkways have proven to be a big attraction, and along with more day trippers, many more international tourists are choosing to stay in the Kapiti. It’s a really exciting time to live and do business here,” says Mrs Houghton.
She says the Kapiti Expressway has made a big difference and so will Transmission Gully, both making the coastal district that much more connected to the country’s capital city.
