Deloitte Energy Excellence Awards 2018 finalists announced

Published: Mon 2 Jul 2018 10:50 AM
Twenty-one energy focused organisations and individuals will be competing for top honours at the 2018 Deloitte Energy Excellence Awards. Today’s announcement showcases the high-calibre of people and organisations working within the energy sector.
Chair of the Judging Panel, Elisabeth Welson, says the strength of the entries across all the different award categories made for vigorous discussion around the judging table.
“It has been a busy but rewarding few weeks for the judges, as we have immersed ourselves in the many fantastic stories of people, projects, innovation and communities across New Zealand’s energy sector. We congratulate all of the finalists coming through in what has been a consistently high quality field of entries.”
Like many businesses within the energy industry, the Awards have had to adapt to keep pace with the changing direction of the sector. The connection and integration with other industries, such as logistics, industrial, consumer and transport, has resulted in a diverse range of finalists this year. The new Low Carbon Future Award category exemplifies this change with two transport energy related organisations making it as finalists.
Deloitte partner and energy leader David Morgan says that Deloitte, as principal sponsor of the Awards since its inception, is honoured to be associated with celebrating excellence in an industry of such vital importance to the New Zealand economy and the country’s overall wellbeing.
“We congratulate all the finalists announced today, including those from the new Low Carbon Future Award category. At a time when energy companies continue to undergo significant change and face new challenges, these worthy finalists are driving progress across the energy sector.”
The Awards provide the ideal opportunity to celebrate and network with companies transforming the energy sector. To be inspired, recognise achievements and contributions, and to be part of the industry on its big night, purchase a table for your organisation to attend.
The Awards night is being held on the 22 August at Cordis Auckland. For more details and to book tickets visit www.energyawards.co.nz
