Bed & Breakfast Association NZ Supreme Business of the Year Award
Bed & Breakfast Association New Zealand, in association with Vision Insurance, are pleased to announce Whakaipo Lodge, Taupo,
has been awarded the 2018 Supreme B Business of the Year.
Whakaipo Lodge owners Garth and Angie London won the award in 2016, and the President of Bed & Breakfast Association New Zealand, Rayma Jenkins, says they have continued to show enthusiasm and professionalism in
running their business.
“The Awards honour, recognise, encourage and reward our members who are the very best bed and breakfast properties in
New Zealand,” says Ms Jenkins.
“The Londons epitomise their values best in their own words; “the most precious gift we can give our guests is our time:
we don’t sell rooms – we create an experience to cherish.””
Garth and Angie London emphasise a passion for sharing good company, enjoying quality local food and beverages, and
creating a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of the region and Whakaipo Lodge.
The Awards Programme celebrates excellence in hospitality in the bed and breakfast and hosted accommodation sector. They
provide a benchmark of excellence and inspiration to other bed and breakfast hosts along with showcasing the best of New
Zealand hospitality within the B accommodation sector.
The Bed & Breakfast Association Award programme is made up of three Awards – Supreme B Business of the Year, Emerging B Business of the Year (open to those who have been operating two years or less), and B Host of the Year.
The winner of 2018 Emerging B Business of the Year Award Winner is Accent House, Sharon and John Corbett, Nelson.
2018 B Host of the Year Award Winners are Rive Gauche, Lynne Fauchelle and Jim Veitch, Taupo.
“Judging the awards programme was extremely difficult due to the very high calibre of entrants in all categories,” says
Ms Jenkins.
The programme is judged by Tourism Industry Aotearoa’s Chief Executive Chris Roberts, Bed & Breakfast Association New Zealand’s President Rayma Jenkins, and Vice President Liz Webster.
