Patrick McVeigh joins our independent consultancy firm

Patrick McVeigh joins independent consultancy firm MartinJenkins

Economic development practitioner and urban planner Patrick McVeigh will strengthen the Auckland practice of consultancy firm MartinJenkins as Practice Lead, People and Places from 18 June 2018. Patrick has over 25 years’ experience working across the public and private sectors in the fields of leadership, strategy development, policy formulation, research and evaluation, scenario planning and visioning.

Patrick moved to New Zealand in 2013 and has since led business, innovation and skills programmes at Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED). He oversaw the delivery of key initiatives, including the development of the Wynyard Quarter Innovation Precinct (GridAKL), the Auckland Youth Employer Pledge, JobFest, TechWeek, IdeaStarter and Digmyidea.

Patrick also led ATEED’s economic insight and analysis programme. This included the development of the Auckland Growth Monitor and Index, the Auckland Innovation Dashboard, the Local Economic Development Masterclass, and the Auckland Economic Insight series, including recent reports on the Circular Economy and Growing Prosperity.

Patrick’s strong consultancy background is based on a deep foundation of eight years’ experience in public policy and economic development consulting in London, where he worked with local, regional and central government clients.

MartinJenkins Managing Director Kevin Jenkins says: “We are excited to have Patrick on board – his skillset is the perfect addition to our growing Auckland presence.”
