A new online platform which helps homeowners, buyers, and renters find the right agent will showcase a preview of its new technology at TechWeek in Auckland this Friday (May 25th).
Properly was founded by Michael Xiong and Will Schmidt to streamline what has generally been a tedious process for all.
The platform helps people choose an agent by connecting peoples’ properties with suitable local agents — making sure you end up with the best agent and deal for your needs.
Instead of having to sort through countless mail flyers, asking friends and family for advice, taking on cold calls, and making gut feeling decisions to decide on a real estate agent, vendors will now be able to simply add their property and have licensed local agents make offers.
On the other end, buyers and renters can also identify what kind of property they want and Properly’s network of buying agents will match them with what’s available – this includes off-the-market listings.
The vendor can see the agent’s offer, profile, achievements, testimonials, and sales record to help them choose the best agent to sell their house — while negotiating freely in an open, online marketplace.
The platform will be released later this year and its showing at TechWeek will be the first time the general public gets to see it.
“Until now, unless you’ve sold a home before, it’s almost impossible to know which real estate agent to trust,” Xiong — himself a registered agent — says.
“Our vision is to become the most loved, trusted, and community-focused real estate platform in the world. We plan to do that by building a marketplace driven by technology, integrity, and transparency — three things that the real estate industry has been slow to embrace.
“Properly combines both the elements of an online network and marketplace – our platform provides tools and features that simplify and enhance the real estate experience, enabling everyone to do more.
“Right now in the real estate industry there is no platform to connect the different parts. We hear all the time about agents spending countless hours prospecting and vendors searching for the right agent — Properly solves this problem.
“We see a massive opportunity to use technology to make processes more efficient, transparent, and easy for everybody.”
Properly aims to be not just a marketplace connecting agents to clients, but more of a social network tying all the different players in the real estate industry together.
“Think of Properly as more Facebook or Uber, and less Trade Me. It’s easy to use and you can sell properties, chat, connect, follow, post, send files, make offers — we’re not selling property, we’re building an eco-system connecting people and simplifying real estate.” Schmidt says.
The founders plan to release the platform in beta testing in the next three to four months with the full launch expected in around six months.
Properly’s showcase at TechWeek is a free event and lasts all day on Friday 25th May at GridAKL’s Lysaght Building – Located at 101 Pakenham Street West, Wynyard Quarter.
