New board member for Diversity Works New Zealand
The Equal Employment Opportunities Trust (now operating as Diversity Works New Zealand) has announced the appointment of Fonterra Diversity and Inclusion Manager Susan Doughty to its Board.
Board Chair Michael Barnett says Doughty, elected as a private sector trustee by the organisation’s members, has a wealth of experience in building the foundations of inclusive workplaces.
A former partner at Ernst & Young Limited, Doughty has devoted her career to raising awareness of equity issues and promoting change. Along with her corporate career, she has also been the director and co-owner of a Reward consulting business and Futurekids, a franchise network focused on delivering IT skills training for children in schools.
Doughty played a key role in developing the YWCA Equal Pay Award programme and worked with EY Tahi and Global Women to develop the business case for TupuToa, an internship programme creating pathways for Māori and Pasifika students into careers in the corporate and professional sectors.
She has significant not-for-profit governance experience and was a finalist in the 2018 Women in Governance Awards.
Doughty’s three-year term on the Board commences on 1 June 2018.
