Milford KiwiSaver Plan wins Consumer’s People’s Choice award for highest customer satisfaction
Milford’s high-performing KiwiSaver Plan is the 2018 Consumer NZ People’s Choice award winner, receiving the highest score for KiwiSaver customer satisfaction in Consumer NZ’s most recent survey.
This makes a clean sweep of the main KiwiSaver industry awards for Milford - after also being named the 2018 Morningstar Fund Manager of the Year – KiwiSaver category, NZ and FundSource 2017 KiwiSaver Manager of the Year.
To determine the winner, Consumer NZ surveyed a representative sample of the public on how satisfied they were with their KiwiSaver provider. Covering factors such as fund performance, customer service and communications. Milford’s 80% customer satisfaction score was well ahead of the second-place provider which scored 71%.
Overall, Consumer NZ’s survey found just 52% of KiwiSaver members were happy with the service they received from their provider. The survey also found people were more likely to be satisfied if they hand-picked their provider, rather than staying in a default scheme.
Regarding the result, Milford’s CEO Troy Swann said “We are delighted and thankful to see our clients rate us highly for both service and investment performance. And we’re working hard to continuously improve our offer to clients. As KiwiSaver savings continue to grow, the performance of KiwiSaver providers is becoming increasingly important to New Zealanders’ ability to retire comfortably.”
Mr. Swann also noted “Consumer NZ’s research found investors who hand-picked their KiwiSaver provider were more satisfied than those that didn’t. So, I’d encourage any KiwiSaver member who’s still in a default fund to consider if they’re in the right type of fund and if they’re with the right provider for them.”
