New Wellington Ready Meal Service Launches

New Wellington Ready Meal Service Launches Giving Time Back To Families and Meals To People In Need

DINNERin (https://dinnerin.co.nz) ready meal food delivery company has launched a heat and eat food subscription service to the Wellington area, providing a time-saving alternative to grocery shopping, recipes meal kits or food bags and meal preparation.

The community-minded heat and eat meal delivery company not only helps households save precious dinner preparation time, but it also offers customers a chance to help support worthy Wellington causes including Women’s Refuge ( https://www.wellingtonwomensrefuge.co.nz/ ) and House of Grace
( https://www.thehouseofgrace.org.nz/ )with charity meal donations from their online orders.

Nearly two years in the making, DINNERin Heat and Eat meal delivery service came about from recognition by the founders that many households would prefer to spend less time preparing a meal and more time with their family, friends and loved ones around the dinner table. “Community is important for most of us, and yet with everyday life being busy, we are spending less and less time together,” says DINNERin Director Katrina Gray.
“From a mother’s perspective of raising five children, working and not having a lot of time, meals for me were not something I looked forward to... and the decision of what to cook was the worst!”
Although there is now a wide range of food bags or kits available to New Zealand consumers, for the time poor or those who prefer not to spend their time cooking, these services remain unsuitable.

“A lot of what was marketed was all about the food and not about the community with food. DINNERin is really about how busy/full our lives can get and the benefits of bringing people back together again around the table. It’s also about helping people to save time so that they can spend more on things that matter to them.”

What also really matters to many customers and the DINNERin team is supporting friends, family, and communities during difficulties. For every new customer subscription of 10 meals, DINNERin hospitality veterans Katrina Gray, Laurence (executive chef) and Trish Benson donate and deliver a charity dinner to a person in need through selected charities.

The generosity of the early adopters of the heat and eat meal delivery service has already enabled over 100 charity meals to be provided to Wellington Women’s Refuge for new arrivals to their safe houses, with meal donations also being planned for young mothers in need at The House of Grace.

“We want to be able to lend a hand or pay it forward and help those in a season of short-term crisis.” Says Katrina. “In life, we all go through seasons, and it’s during those tough times that we can join together and contribute to something very worthwhile.”
