WHSS2018 Announces Free Education Program
Workplace health and wellbeing takes centre stage in the highly anticipated Free Education Program at the safety world’s hottest NEW event, theWorkplace Health and Safety Show 2018. Running across two days (23-24 May), 14 insightful talks led by industry professionals will shed light on mental health in the workplace, groundbreaking new technologies, and navigating ever-changing safety standards.
Mental wellbeing is one of Australia’s most burning issues with work-related stress causing a staggering 92% of all work-related mental disorder claims, according to Safe Work Australia. It is not surprising that prestigious auditing firm PricewaterhouseCoopers found that the associated productivity losses result in 12 million days of reduced productivity yearly, costing Australian employers a whopping $6 billion per annum.
“When fostering a healthy work environment, there is no such thing as a quick fix. It requires careful planning for long-term solutions, with the right policies and programs firmly in place. said International Exhibition and Conference Group CEO, Marie Kinsella. “Everyone knows that happy workers are the most productive.”
The Free Education Program is divided into two streams: Health Hub, tackling a previously taboo topic and facing issues head on to keep staff happy and healthy; and the Safety Spot, exploring the very forefront of safety solutions with the latest industry technologies and developments.
