The Human Resources Institute of New Zealand Announces two new Independent Board Directors
The Human Resources Institute of New Zealand (HRINZ), the leading professional body for human resource professionals, is proud to announce the appointment of two new independent Board Directors: Baubre Murray and Lance Walker.
Baubre Murray joins the HRINZ Board of Directors after a long career running a successful Chartered Accountancy firm, Dowse Murray Chartered Accountants. Her expertise and experience in Risk, Finance and Audit for other not-for-profit organisations, along with her governance experience with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) during the merger of the Australian and New Zealand organisations will be invaluable to HRINZ.
Lance Walker, who is the incoming CEO of the Wellington Regional Economic Development Agency (WREDA), has a background of specialist experience in marketing and business development which will strengthen the activities of HRINZ in these areas. He is the former CEO of Loyalty New Zealand, which operates the Fly Buys loyalty programme, and past Chairman of the New Zealand Marketing Association. He was awarded the 2017 Supportive CEO Award at the NZ HR Awards for his leadership and creation of authentic, high performing, customer-centric team cultures and programmes of cultural change while CEO at Cigna Insurance.
The appointment of two additional independent directors will be positive for HRINZ members as the organisation looks to continue to transform its offering to members following the successful launch of Chartered membership; a first for the profession and achievement of a 15-year strategic goal for HRINZ.
Murray and Walker join an existing board of nine including National President, Julia Stones CFHRINZ; Vice President, Matt Carter CFHRINZ; Board Chair, Diane Edwards CFHRINZ; Sharon Grant CFHRINZ; , David Gray CMHRINZ; Denise Hartley-Wilkins CFHRINZ; Huma Houghton CFHRINZ; , John Palmer CFHRINZ and independent director, John Woodward CA.
