Unisys Awarded International IT System Provider of the Year by STAT Times International for Excellence in Air Cargo
Unisys solutions and services recognised for ability to facilitate digital transformation across supply chain
WELLINGTON, 1 March, 2018 – Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) announced that it has been named “International IT Systems Provider of the Year” at the STAT Times International Awards for excellence in air cargo. Unisys was recognised for its industry-led software solutions and suite of services that enable carriers to streamline and secure their freight management processes, as well as improve their operational efficiency.
The award was presented at the AirCargo India conference in Mumbai on 21 February. Determined by a panel of judges selected from industry stalwarts, the awards highlight leaders in the travel and transportation space that have excelled within the air cargo supply chain despite a challenging global air freight market – demonstrating agility, innovation and superior strategic planning – and having a beneficial impact on market trends.
“This award is a testament to the impact we have made by connecting businesses and individuals across the world,” said Dheeraj Kohli, vice president and Global Head of Travel and Transportation, Unisys. “Our ability to combine our award-winning software with the latest application and mobile-enabled services not only provides clients with greater transparency throughout the supply chain, but is an important differentiator for us in the market.”
This acknowledgement is the latest recognition for Unisys cargo capabilities. Last year, Unisys announced its new holistic and integrated digital logistics solution,Digistics™, which is the first comprehensive air cargo solution that offers catalogue-based solutions via the cloud, leveraging advanced analytics – powered by machine learning – to help carriers improve their supply chain operations, from route planning to optimising their shipment conditions. In September of 2017, Digisticswon the global award for “Best Software Architecture” at the ICMG 2017 USA Architecture Excellence Awards. In October, Unisys also won the Payload Asia Customer Choice Award for “IT Service Provider of the Year” for excellence in air cargo.
“Disruptive technologies like IoT are creating a new baseline for how businesses expect their applications to perform. To leverage the full potential of digital transformation, today’s cargo providers, airlines and airports require both business-led solutions and the requisite mobility and application services support integrated within their IT ecosystem,” said Kohli.
Unisys has more than 55 years of experience providing innovative IT solutions to the travel and transportation industry. Unisys cargo solutions are used by many of the world's leading carriers, who collaborate via the Unisys Cargo User Group (UCUG). Unisys and UCUG members have worked with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) for more than 20 years on initiatives such as e-Freight, Cargo iQ and XML messaging. Over 100 airports worldwide and 21 of the top 25 airlines depend on Unisys solutions.
