Dairy Woman of the Year finalist

27 February 2018

NZDIA Executive Chair announced as Dairy Woman of the Year finalist

The New Zealand Dairy Industry Awards Executive Chair has been named as one of three finalists in the 2018 Fonterra Dairy Woman of the Year awards.

Rachel Baker farms in the Central Hawkes Bay with her husband and three children. She and her husband won the Manawatu Sharemilker of the Year title in 2009, and progressed to large scale sharemilking before purchasing a dairy support unit in 2017.

NZDIA General Manager Chris Keeping says it is no surprise that Rachel is a finalist in the Fonterra Dairy Woman of the Year awards. “We consistently see the passion and enthusiasm Rachel has for the New Zealand dairy industry. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience and is always willing to share that with others, to help them on their journey within the industry.”

“On behalf of the New Zealand Dairy Industry Awards Trust, Executive, Management team and all the volunteers, we wish Rachel all the very best. It is wonderful that she is being recognised at this level for her commitment to the New Zealand dairy industry.”

“I also congratulate the other two finalists, Tracey Collis and Loshni Manikam. We are lucky to have women within the industry who possess such a wide scope of skills and expertise.”

The winner will be announced at an awards ceremony during Dairy Women’s Network’s conference in Rotorua on Thursday 22 March.
