Chapman Tripp proud to join car-sharing

Chapman Tripp is proud to join the car-sharing movement as one of the foundation members of Yoogo, launching today in Christchurch.
Yoogo is a Christchurch-based electric car fleet management company with a pool of 100 vehicles, supported by 12 foundation members. In addition to Chapman Tripp, others include Christchurch City Council, Ara Institute, Aurecon, Beca, Canterbury District Health Board, Environment Canterbury, Meridian Energy, Tonkin and Taylor, Warren and Mahoney, and Christchurch Airport.
The car-sharing enterprise was officially launched today at the Christchurch Art Gallery – which Chapman Tripp is also a proud supporter of – and was attended by Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.
A number of staff in the Chapman Tripp Christchurch office have been using Yoogo share vehicles to get to work-related appointments, partner Andrew Woods said.
“Similarly to the rest of the “sharing models” – think AirBnB or Uber – car-sharing is set to shape the mobility and motoring industries hugely in the coming years,” he said.
“Our staff have been delighted to see us join Yoogo and have been very happy with the convenience of this service, as well as the opportunity to contribute towards decreasing environmental harm.
“We’re excited to be a foundation member of Yoogo, and proud to be associated with such a forward-thinking initiative.”
Sustainability is a significant part of Chapman Tripp’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) objectives, Chapman Tripp senior associate Stephanie Muller said.
“Our sustainability initiative, aptly named Footprint, aims to reduce our environment footprints through efforts such as waste reduction, recycling, and smart use of energy and travel. Yoogo is another way we are reducing our environment footprint, while also supporting a local business. Our goal is to constantly improve our practices and keep sustainability top of mind for our people.”
