Kiwis Encouraged to Lap up Fastest Broadband Speeds
Slingshot drops Gigantic fibre plan to sub $100
Slingshot is giving more Kiwi households the chance to get amongst the fastest broadband it offers, by massively reducing the price of its Gigantic fibre plan, to $99.95 per month.
“Around a million Kiwis can get connected to Gigantic fibre, and they really should. Gigabit technology is the best and fastest out there and it makes a huge difference to the quality of the online experience,” says Slingshot General Manager Taryn Hamilton.
“Everyday Kiwi families and households are the perfect candidates for Gigantic fibre – made up of those who work from home, heavy content streamers, and keen gamers. In the past three years we’ve seen the number of connected devices in the home triple, sitting at an average of ten or more per household, and continuing to rise.
“In effort to stimulate more uptake, we’ve taken a huge chunk off the price of Slingshot Gigantic and are hoping more Kiwis will take the plunge and reap the benefits,” says Hamilton.
Hamilton notes that ISPs have marketed gigabit services under a range of names. “We are in an odd position where we’re selling a gigabit technology, but the highest speed will top out at least 10% before a gigabit, so we have had to call it Gigantic. Nevertheless, this is the fastest fibre plan we can offer – and it’s a game-changer that we can offer it for under $100.”
Slingshot Gigantic is available in most cities and towns where fibre is available, for just $99.95 per month for Unlimited.
