CPTPP back on track
CPTPP back on track
The EMA says it is great news the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) is back on track and expected to be signed in March.
"This is a pragmatic continuation of the free trade agenda, which is vital for New Zealand," says Kim Campbell, CEO, EMA.
"The Labour-led government is to be commended for continuing the bi-partisan approach to trade, and building on the good work of the previous government.
"This is tremendous news and a big win for New Zealand, particularly as we will have access to markets such as Japan and Mexico. Agreements such as the CPTPP open doors to markets we otherwise would not have access to.
Trade builds prosperity and agreements, such as the CPTPP, are key building blocks to a connected, vibrant economy, says Mr Campbell.
