Dodson Motorsport Finds Winners Circle at SEMA Trade Show in Las Vegas
Dodson Motorsport, world leaders in aftermarket dual clutch transmission components, set track and sales records at the 2017 SEMA trade show in Las Vegas. The company set a new world record for the fastest VW Golf MK7R, increased revenue 25 per cent, and expanded their product base with 20 new innovative transmission upgrades.
“SEMA was incredibly successful this year. Since the show we are seeing a major uplift in new dealer applications,” says Steven Parker, General Manager of Dodson Motorsport. “It was great to have Dodson Motorsport be front and center with the industry’s brightest minds and hottest products in one place. As a New Zealand based business, we really took advantage of the global visitors to network and expand our dealer base.”
SEMA is the world’s largest aftermarket car show and this year it attracted over 70,000 domestic and international buyers, the perfect place for Dodson Motorsport to showcase.
Dodson Motorsport is known for comprehensively developing and testing dual clutch systems for high end performance vehicles such as Porsche, Audi, VW, BMW, Mitsubishi and Nissan, and have been a popular stallholder at SEMA for the previous 10 years. The New Zealand company now has a global network with over 170 dealers and distributors accessing their performance parts worldwide. Dodson Motorsport currently holds 10 world and US records in the standing quarter and half mile races.
Harry Dodson, owner of Dodson Motorsport, and Glenn Cupit, director for R, attended the four day SEMA show this year. They used the opportunity to showcase new product releases such as the VW Sportsman Plus clutch upgrade which runs in the world’s fastest VW Golf MK7R. The car that won the record was also showcased on display at the event.
“This year we also had our five new products on display at SEMA, including transmission upgrades to suit Porsche PDK and the Lamborghini Huracan,” says Cupit. “The DMS Sportsman’s Plus clutch upgrade to suit the VW Golf was our most popular product at the show by far, with modifiers keen to learn more about its performance ability. Our vision at Dodson Motorsport is pairing cutting edge manufacturing processes with innovative designs, so it was great to see so many people interested in our high-performance technologies.”
