SIMPLY PAYROLL REBRANDS TO PAYSAUCE TO BETTER REFLECT ITS APPROACH TO BUSINESS
As a leading provider of cloud-based payroll solutions throughout New Zealand, Simply Payroll is heralding its next phase of growth by rebranding to PaySauce.
Following two years of successful expansion and a Fintech category win at the 2017 New Zealand Innovation Awards, the move represents a broadening in its approach to helping businesses manage their people.
PaySauce will be releasing features and functionality that have never before been associated with what payroll technology typically provides. Fully-mobile rostering and time sheeting, human resource management tools, contract management, and budgeting and resource allocation advice are all areas being invested in currently.
PaySauce CEO and co-founder Asantha Wijeyeratne says that payroll is the core activity around which a huge number of other business needs and current pain points exist.
“We have been talking closely with our customers for the past 24 months and we noticed immediately that we could be adding more functionality to our solution, that was complimentary to payroll, but also had the potential to solve a huge number of their issues – so we started building most of that out. Our desire is to become known as the only payroll provider with an appetite to be truly different for our customers and partners.”
This philosophy is evident in the special attention given to the agricultural sector, where PaySauce has built a strong customer base. Wijeyeratne notes that “agri payroll had, for the most part, been neglected in New Zealand until we helped farm owners address some core regulatory issues with an innovative fix.”
The rebranding also marks the start of exploration into markets outside New Zealand. As PaySauce leverages the latest technology and their unique system architecture, it is perfectly positioned to help small to medium businesses around the world.
Wijeyeratne says the New Zealand experience to date holds PaySauce in good stead for successful expansion, and research indicates that many of the issues faced by Kiwi SMEs are consistent elsewhere.
“Managing payroll in this country is actually very difficult. In trying to simplify the process for business owners and make it as easy and painless to pay people, we have had to build our solution differently. This has given us a great starting position when we look to overseas markets. With PaySauce we have flexible, scalable and proven technology that is working for hundreds of customers in the most complex payroll situations imaginable – that is a big initial selling point.”
The PaySauce team have already begun discussions with prominent organisations in larger markets and have been surprised by the lack of complexity and the ease at which their solutions can be quickly tailored to provide significant value. The PaySauce team is confident it will secure a cornerstone international client within the next 12 months
