DuraBuild Construction Celebrates 5 Years of building in Warkworth
Warkworth based DuraBuild Construction recently celebrated their five year anniversary as a building company.
Founded by Mahurangi local, Mike Bronkhorst, the company is an example of how local trade services have been able to establish themselves on the wave of development taking place locally.
“When I first started building it wasn’t exactly prosperous times for builders”, comments Bronkhorst.
“Coming out of the GFC, I saw a lot of companies fall on hard times, a reality which was a good lesson when it came to founding my own company – that is, you must establish yourself well to ensure you can weather the bad times”.
Starting with just himself and one apprentice back in 2012, Bronkhorst has grown his company to over 20 employees over the past five years and has completed a range of new builds and renovations throughout Warkworth, Omaha and Matakana.
With the Warkworth region earmarked as an area of major growth and the population set to grow to five-fold by the year 2040, the building sector is set to remain busy – particularly over the next 5 years when the northern motorway extension improves access to the region.
“Prospects look very good for the Warkworth construction industry over the next few years – however it is important that we remain prepared for any unexpected downturn as I want DuraBuild to be around for a long time to come”.
Bronkhorst isn’t looking to slow down any time soon, looking to further grow his business over the next 5 years.
“We have a lot of new exciting projects on the
horizon which will allow us to expand our team and increase
our workload. We are also increasing our administrative team
to ensure that we can effectively manage a greater number of
projects and continue to grow”.
