Bridgestone launches Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand support
Bridgestone New Zealand is today launching its inaugural Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand campaign following the announcement of a new partnership earlier this year.
New Zealand’s most trusted tyre brand is striving to raise funds and awareness to support the vital work of the Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand (LBC) through the ‘Brighten Your Wheels’ initiative.
Under the ‘Brighten Your Wheels’ campaign, Bridgestone is selling specially designed blue valve caps from today in order to raise funds for the charity and to allow motorists to show their support for LBC throughout November.
For just $2 per cap, Bridgestone is encouraging motorists to brighten up their wheels in order to brighten up the lives of the estimated 21,000 New Zealanders living with leukaemia, blood cancer or related conditions.
Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand CEO, Pru Etcheverry, welcomes the initiative and is thrilled to be working in partnership with Bridgestone.
“We’re delighted that Bridgestone New Zealand has come on board as a major partner of LBC and we’re really excited about the ‘Brighten Up Your Wheels’ campaign. As we receive no Government funding, the money raised will help fund our nationwide service supporting patients and families living with blood cancer,” Ms Etcheverry said.
The blue caps are available through Bridgestone Select and Bridgestone Tyre Centres or by visiting Bridgestonecapdrive.co.nz.
“Bridgestone is proud to support Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand and is thrilled we can launch this initiative to raise funds for patient support, research, awareness and advocacy,” said Bridgestone Australia and New Zealand Managing Director, Andrew Moffatt.
“Each year, approximately 2,200 New Zealanders are diagnosed with leukaemia, blood cancer and related conditions, and supporting them is a focus for Bridgestone in New Zealand."
The announcement of Bridgestone NZ’s support of LBC strengthens Bridgestone’s efforts to drive fundraising and awareness for leukaemia charities, complementing a principal partnership with Australia’s Leukaemia Foundation.
“We’re delighted to support this cause on both sides of the Tasman Sea. It is a demonstration of just how much importance Bridgestone Australia and New Zealand places on giving back the community. We see it as our way to serve society,” Mr Moffatt added.
The Bridgestone ‘Brighten Your Wheels’ campaign will bolster the LBC efforts by Bridgestone earlier this year as the highest fundraisers in the 2017 Step Up Sky Tower Stair Challenge, raising more than $30,000.
