Mercury takes out another top marketing award for Energy Made Wonderful
Successfully rebranding in a way that achieved strong cut through and resonance with customers earned Mercury and advertising agency FCB three gold awards along with the prestigious Grand Effie at the 2017 NZ Effie Awards last night.
The awards, which honour effective marketing communications, recognised Mercury for its ‘Energy Made Wonderful’ campaign with Gold for Best Strategic Thinking, Most Effective Integrated Campaign and the Consumer Services category.
Mercury Chief Marketing Officer, Julia Jack, said the company was thrilled and humbled to take out top honours for the second time this year at awards for best practice marketing execution.
“The re-brand was the result of a huge effort across our team at Mercury and our agencies. The success we have seen is a direct result of what we do every day for our customers.”
International Effies Judge, Chris Baker, reflected on the broader achievements of the gold-winning campaign in a video shown at the awards.
“The campaign stood out because to really cut through and make a difference and get involved in the category like this is very difficult.
“Mercury not only did that but they delivered strong sales results, both in terms of holding onto customers and acquiring new customers,” Baker said.
Julia Jack said it was a great night to celebrate achievements across many sectors.
“This recognition is as much for our customers as it is for us. Our commitment is to continue to inspire them, reward them, and make things easy for them.
“Congratulations to our agency FCB for also taking out the award for most effective agency of the year,” Jack said.
