HRINZ farewells departing Chief Executive Chris Till
Longstanding Chief Executive, Chris Till has resigned from the role of Chief Executive of HRINZ today for family health
reasons, and will finish up with the Institute on Friday, 10 November.
“Chris has been with HRINZ for four years and has led the Institute through significant challenges and change. Under
Chris’ leadership we have seen the public profile and reputation of the profession grow significantly amongst human
resources professionals, businesses and employers, other professional groups and in the media” says HRINZ Board Chair
John Woodward.
“The professionalism Chris has brought to the organisation and the way he has been the face of the Institute, coupled
with his contribution in this space will be sorely missed” Woodward added.
“Chris has also been instrumental in the growing success of our HR Awards and the ongoing success of our conference,
summits and professional development programmes. He leaves HRINZ having delivered the signature project of Chartered
Membership, a strategic priority for HRINZ for many years” Woodward says.
Till says “It’s been an absolute pleasure leading a dedicated team of professional staff through some very challenging
times. However, with the introduction of Chartered Membership the organisation has credible value not only for members
but the organisations of those members.”
“HR in New Zealand is in a good position and I’d like to acknowledge the tireless support of all our volunteers and
thank them for the contribution to HRINZ’s ongoing success. I’d also like to thank our members for their support in our
professional body, as building a resilient and influential organisation is something we cannot do without you, so ‘Thank
You’“ Till added.
“Human Resources is something I am immensely passionate about and to be able to lead the profession in the most
distinguished trade association for HR Professionals in this country is something I’m very proud of” Till concluded.
“On behalf of the HRINZ Board, the HOT team, and the wider membership, we wish Chris all the best for the future” says
Woodward.
The HRINZ Board will be reviewing the position before embarking on a recruitment campaign.
