Christchurch Trucking Show Goes From Strength to Strength

Christchurch Trucking Show Goes From Strength to Strength

Bookings have opened for the TMC Trucking 2018 industry show to be held on March 9-10, 2018. The strong uptake reflects the popularity of this biennial event. The previous show, held in 2016, saw over 22,000 visitors, 83 trade exhibitors and 380 trucks (for the Show and Shine competition) attend on the day.

The continued growth of the show has necessitated a change of location to the Canterbury Agriculture Park, Curletts Road, Christchurch. The new location allows more display area, more attractions and room for more working displays.

TMC Trailers Ltd were quick to secure the naming rights for a second time. Other sponsors include; Heavy Trucks Christchurch (MAN and Western Star), Sime Darby (Volvo, UD, Truck Stops, Mack and Hino), Gough TWL, CVC, and Bridgestone.

A large area has been set aside to allow the truck importers to showcase their latest offerings. There will be the opportunity for some test drives.

The popular Kids Zone will be extended and will include the Heavy Trucks sandpit, truck bouncy castle and a chill out zone. Truck rides will be available for the first time – a must for the kids.

Radio controlled trucks are back with more trucks and an improved layout.

The popular Show and Shine remains a main attraction. It showcases the professionalism of the drivers as they line up in their polished and shiny working trucks. There are over 40 awards/prizes up for grabs including a new ‘Truck of the Show’ award.

A marquee village is being created for trade suppliers to showcase their wares. With extra room, larger displays will be possible. Sites range from $1000+GST to sponsorships from $3000+GST.

The ‘Trade only’ day on Friday 9 will offer exhibitors the ability interact more closely with their clients in the closed environment. At the centre of the South Island, Christchurch is readily accessible making it ideal for promotion and for hosting client functions.

Local schools will also be invited to attend the Trade only day to gain a behind the scene look at the trucking industry and possible pathways to joining.

The TMC Trucking 2018 show is not to be missed! There will be something for everyone.

Ronald McDonald House South Island and Canterbury Child Cancer will again benefit from the generosity of the industry.

Show entry: $5 per adult – children under 16 free.
