Kiwi Christmas reflected in revamped Zesti range
Forget snowflakes, mistletoe, and roaring log fires, for most Kiwis, Christmas is all about sunshine, beaches and camping – and the new Zesti Christmas range by Tasman Bay Food Group reflects that.
Best known for Juicies, a frozen juice product sold in schools since 1990 and now exported around the world, Tasman Bay Food Group has also made and sold Christmas bakery products under its Zesti and Nature’s Harvest brands for many years.
“People they told us they wanted to see products that reflected what Christmas means to us as Kiwis,” says Managing Director of Tasman Bay Food Group, Marina Hirst Tristram, “so we deliberately steered away from the traditional northern hemisphere imagery and colours, and instead featured things like caravans, pohutukawa flowers, and sunshine. The packaging also features line drawings by New Zealand illustrator Greg Straight. We think the revamped range looks beautiful and will stand out on the shelf. More importantly, of course, the range tastes delicious!”
The Zesti Christmas range features little, local goodies made the right way from tasty, wholesome ingredients. All the products are made using tried and trusted traditional recipes with a fresh, zesty twist. There are 11 products in the Zesti Christmas range for 2017 including three new flavours of Zesti Celebration Bites – Cranberry & Almond, Christmas Pudding and Italian Panforte, three flavours of double-baked Zesti Biscotti – Christmas; Champagne, Rosewater & Pistachio and Summer Berries & Vanilla, three flavours of Zesti Christmas Pies – Berry, Caramel and Traditional Fruit Mince and a three-pack of chocolate and hazelnut Zesti Celebration Truffles.
“Making things the ‘right’ way is important to us,” says Marina. “We double-bake our biscotti, for example – just as it should be done for extra crunch.”
Zesti Christmas products will be available in most New World, PAK’nSAVE and Fresh Choice stores from October 2017 and can also be purchased online from www.tasmanbay.co.nz
