Emirates’ additional Stockholm flights boost NZ connectivity
Emirates will introduce three additional flights per week to the Swedish capital, Stockholm, complementing Emirates’ existing schedule and providing more choice for New Zealand travellers, from December 8.
The new scheduled flights will be added to meet the growing demand for travel on the route, particularly during the winter and festive season. Since launching its current daily scheduled service in September 2013, Emirates has continued to grow demand for both inbound and outbound travel. The introduction of the three additional flights on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday is in response to the increased demand.
The three new weekly flights will enhance Sweden’s global long-haul connectivity, offering passengers travelling from Stockholm the chance to reach over 70 Emirates destinations in Asia, Australasia, Africa and the Middle East.
The new Emirates flight, EK155, will depart Dubai at 1500, arriving in Stockholm Arlanda Airport at 1845. The return flight, EK156, will depart ARN at 2110 arriving at Dubai International Airport at 0630 the following day.
The timing of the three additional flights provides easier southbound connections from Stockholm. Passengers from EK155 will be able to connect to Emirates’ direct flight to Auckland in New Zealand as well as the Christchurch flight.
As well as providing choice and convenience for both Swedish customers travelling to Dubai and beyond for work or leisure, Emirates’ inbound passenger and cargo operations have consistently made a positive impact on Sweden’s tourism, trade, investment and employment. Operated by Emirates’ popular Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in a three-class configuration, the new flights, like the current scheduled daily flight, will offer eight Private Suites in First Class, featuring automated sliding doors for privacy and personal mini-bar; 42 lie-flat seats in Business and 310 spacious seats in Economy.
Passengers travelling in First and Business Class also enjoy premium lounge access at Stockholm Arlanda airport as well as Emirates’ complimentary chauffeur drive service.
As with all Emirates flights, passengers travelling on the three additional weekly Stockholm flights will be able to take advantage of the generous baggage allowance of up to 35kg in Economy, 40kg in Business and 50kg in First Class.
On board, passengers can discover ice Digital Widescreen, offering over 2,500 channels of on-demand audio and visual entertainment including the latest movies, TV shows, music, audio books and games. Customers can enjoy the famous on-board hospitality from Emirates’ multi-national cabin crew, as well as gourmet regionally inspired dishes with complimentary beverages.
The current existing daily flight schedule: EK 157 departs Dubai at 0810, providing connections from New Zealand services, arriving at ARN at 1155. The return flight EK158 departs ARN at 1335, landing back in Dubai at 2255.
