At Thinxtra, we all envy our network deployment team because they have the chance to visit and install Sigfox antennas
on amazing sites (with a view) in Australia, New Zealand (and now Hong Kong as well). So we asked them to take some
pictures to share with the rest of team. Some of those were so good that we decided to share them with the world via
Pinterest. Enjoy!

“My previous pet bird died due to heat or him falling off his perch. So I decided to look for a solution. This Xkit is
great, I really like how it comes packed with sensors and can be programmed with an Arduino!” says Xavier. What started
as a simple idea became a real project with a sophisticated flow chart. After a bit of tweaking & programming support from the Thinxtra team, the solution went live and is sending data to its platform. More info.

Overflowing rubbish bins in public parks could be wiped out if new sensors being trialed locally prove successful. The
bin sensors have been attached to rubbish bins in a Ferrymead park as a pilot to test the new technology. A few more of
the low cost sensors will be deployed at rubbish trouble spots around the city in the next few weeks, as part of several
initiatives to be rolled out by the Council's Smart Cities program. More info.

A simple retrofit solution designed in Australia will do the trick: Sean Van der Walt, the CEO of Walt Technologies, has
been involved with Xbee wireless devices for a very long time and saw the opportunity to convert them to Sigfox and thus
extending its market reach. It is also an easy way to increase the local ecosystem of Sigfox solutions. More info.

Digitanimal assists farmers to track the well-being and location of their livestock directly from an app and web
platform, now available in Australia and New Zealand. Each cow, sheep (or even kangaroo) can be equipped with an IoT
collar, which monitors the animal’s location and condition, transmitting the data through the Sigfox network. More info.

The hype phase of the Internet of Things is over and the hard work designing products, deployments and tackling issues
like security has started. The IoT market has huge potential, and a widening circle of companies is looking ahead to big
challenges in areas such as interoperability, security and ease-of-use. The good news is that Sigfox is emerging as a
strong player in LPWAN connectivity.

Leaks result in the loss of more than 200 billion litres of water each year in Australia. WaterGroup, has introduced a
new service called Leak Insurance, using Sigfox-based smart water meters to identify leaks effectively as soon as they
occur. This enables customers to take the appropriate action to avoid further loss of water and reduce damages to their
property.
